Most pregnant
women suffer from
the typical pregnancy
symptoms of nausea
and vomiting during
their first trimester. It
is mainly due to
nausea. The feeling
of nausea reduces
the desire to eat.
Besides, vomiting
can really make it
difficult to gain weight
or maintain a healthy
weight.

After 7 hours of
nursing intervention,
the patient will be
able to:
-verbalize
understanding of
significance of
nutrition to pregnancy
-state that she is able
to eat even in light of
nausea

Independent:
1. Work with client to
see if modifications
(reducing work
responsibilities,
giving more home
responsibility to
husband) will help
alleviate symptoms.
2. Divide feedings
into small amounts
and give frequently.
