Place Value War

Goal: Be the player with the most points at the end of the game.
Number of Players: Best played with 2 players.
Materials: Deck of Phase 10 Cards (single digit number cards
only), score sheet, dry erase marker
Instructions for play:
1. Deal the cards to each player as follows:
Playing with the TENS value: two stacks of cards for
each player
Playing with the HUNDREDS value: three stacks of cards
for each player
Playing with the THOUSANDS value: four stacks of cards
for each player

2. To begin play, each player turns over one card from each
stack.

3. Each player can then rearrange the numbers they turn over
to make the largest number possible.

4. Each player takes turns reading their number.


5. The player with the highest number wins the round taking all

Marker
the cards played and placing them in their Prisoner Pile.
6. The player that wins the round gets 5 points. Keep score on
the score sheet.
7. Continue playing until all cards have been used. The player
with the most points wins.
NOTE TO PARENTS: throughout the game randomly ask your child
to identify numbers in the ones, tens, hundreds, or thousands
place.
