Katimavik:
Katimavik was a young adult volunteer program that took place all across
Canada, and was financed by the Federal Government; it had two lengths one was
for six months and one was for nine months. Within this program many different
types of jobs and/or activites helped the young adults develop real world skills;
preparing them for job and life.
Some of the skills learned were:

Co-op experience
Set up and took down labs in preparation for classes
Trained with Teachers and Curators about the new galleries and exhibits
Learned how to use office equipment (laminator and photo copy machine)
Cataloged artifacts for the classes, and with that also measured them
Helped organize the school children for tours, and then helped in the
classrooms
Gave tours to lost people in the museum
