Nintendo Switches Up Approach to Gaming

Market with Release of New Console
Redefining 21st Century Video Games with the Nintendo Switch

KYOTO, Nov 22, 2016 - Video game pioneer Nintendo is set to revolutionize the modern
gaming industry with the release of the Switch, its newest console device. Following lackluster
performance and sales of their previous console release, the Wii U, Nintendo has switched up
their approach to development and stunned the tech world. After nearly four years of design and
development Nintendo unveils its newest contribution to gaming in the form of the Switch,
which combines mobile handheld gaming and traditional console gaming in an exciting and
unprecedented way. Allowing users to connect with their TVs and play as well as take their
games on the go, Nintendo is making waves and setting the tone for gaming systems going into
the second decade of the 21st century.

Facilitated by the use of a Switch dock, the Switch can easily be connected to a home TV
allowing for a traditional gaming experience appealing to much of Nintendos young adult
customer base. Just as easily the Switch can be removed from the dock and immediately be
turned into a mobile platform capable of travelling nearly anywhere with the user - complete
with two attached Joy-Con Controllers. These controllers can be both used by one person, be
shared amongst two people, or even shared beyond that if others bring their controllers and the

game allows more players. For a more intuitive and familiar console setting the Switch will also
be compatible with the Switch Pro Controller as well as myriad Joy-Con accessories, providing a
comfortable setup for everyone.

True to Nintendos longtime commitment to interactive multiplayer gaming the Switch allows
multiple players to bring their Switches and play face to face multiplayer games; the territory of
console gaming combined with the versatility of mobile gaming. The Switch eliminates not only
the boundaries between console and mobile, but also between the past and the future, providing
game titles from familiar beloved development companies such as Bethesda, CAPCOM Ltd,
UBISOFT, and many other major names in the field.

Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo America puts it eloquently, stating It (The Switch)
gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the
concept of gaming without boundaries. (http://www.nintendo.com/)
