On January 2, 1997, in the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Eric
Dakin was born as the second child and soon to be middle child of the Dakin family. Here the family lived in Bright, Ontario until 2002 when I moved to the small town of New Hamburg. There I went to school at Forest Glenn the local elementary school that was Junior Kindergarten through grade 8. I started playing hockey there when I was 6, although I had already played in pre-tyke in Bright, the hockey in New Hamburg was a little more serious. During the summer break from school I played soccer when I was 7 and until age 9. I then switched over to baseball which, I enjoyed a lot more than soccer. I again expanded my interest in sports at age 13 when I started playing Volleyball and basketball at Forest Glen. At the end of my grade 8 graduation I won the athlete for the class of 2011. After my graduation from Forest Glenn I attended high school at Waterloo Oxford D.S.S. My first year there I played football and rugby for them as well as continuing with hockey and baseball outside of school. As for my other extracurricular activities I joined DECA at age 16. This was defining moment because it got me genuinely interested in business. The first year I made it to nationals and by my second year I was an executive member. Finally after graduating high school I decided to take a fifth and work to save up for college. Originally I planned on going to Conestoga College however, during my fifth year I switched over to Fanshawe. I moved in on September 4th and that is where I currently reside.
