Grade Point Average (GPA)

Calculation Sheet
Fill in the following chart with your course information for the Fall semester based on
your mid-term grades.
1. Record the names of the courses that you are currently taking (Fall 2016) in
the course column.
2. In the letter grade column, fill in the mid-term grade that you received for
each course.
3. Convert your letter grade into quality points (i.e., A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B = 3.0,
F = 0). Use chart on back.
4. In the credit hour column, write down the credit hour(s) for each course taken.
5. Multiply your grade points by the number of credit hours taken. This equal
quality points earned for that course. (i.e., 4 X 3 = 12 quality points)
6. Add the total number of credit hours you have attempted.
7. Add the total the number of quality points you earned.
8. Divide the total number of quality points earned by the total number of
semester or credit hours attempted.
