NEW DELHI, Oct 15:

Arunachal Pradesh and
Jammu and Kashmir are "integral and inalienable" parts of
India and this has been clearly
conveyed to China, including at
the highest level, External Affairs
Minister Sushma Swaraj has
said.
Swaraj, in a letter to Congress
MP Mullappally Ramachandran,
appreciated his concern over distribution of controversial maps
by China to its military.
Ramachandran had raised the
issue in Lok Sabha on July 22. He
had pointed out that China was
trying to reinforce its claim over
Arunachal Pradesh by distributing "controversial updated maps"
to its military and wanted to know
whether the matter was highlighted during the recent deliberations
with Chinese leaders.
"China disputes the international boundary between India

and China. In the eastern sector,

China claims approximately
90,000 sq kms of Indian territory
in the state of Arunachal
Pradesh,"
Swaraj
told
Ramachandran in the letter.
Besides, Indian territory
under the occupation of China in
Jammu and Kashmir is approximately 38,000 sq kms. In addition, under the so called ChinaPakistan "boundary agreement"
signed between China and
Pakistan on March 2,1963,
Pakistan illegally ceded 5,180 sq
kms of Indian territory in
Pakistan occupied Kashmir to
China, she said.
"The fact that Arunachal
Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir
are integral and inalienable parts
of India has been clearly conveyed to the Chinese side on several occasions, including at the
highest level," Swaraj said in the
letter. (PTI)

The External Affairs Ministry

has sought from CBI details of its
probe into Saradha chit fund scam
after reports of the scam money
being allegedly pumped into
Bangladesh for terror activities
surfaced.
Top officials said CBI has
been asked to submit its report
whether any such issue has
cropped up during its probe.
CBI sources, however, clarified that so far they have not
encountered any such instance of
funds being transferred to any terror group including Jamaat-eIslami but the probe is still on and
nothing conclusive can be said as
of now.
They said MEA could be
interested in the issue because of
the news reports which are getting
published in India as well as in
Bangladesh.
"We are not aware of all this

international terror linkages. No

such indication has surfaced in our
probe so far. We have not looked
into that aspect. We will inform
MEA about it," said an official.
The sources said they have got
some of the money trail on the
basis of which action is being
taken by the agency but complete
details of investments and fund
transfers etc still being looked into.
The CBI sources further said
the probe has met a stumbling
block because the account books
of the group have been "purposefully" removed from the offices of
Saradha taking excuse of the mob
attack on its offices after news of
scam broke out.
Political parties including
CPI(M) and BJP have asked the
Government to look into the
alleged diversion of Saradha scam
money to terror groups based in
Bangladesh.
"We feel the reports that
Saradha funds were siphoned off

to Bangladesh need to be looked

into by the Ministry of Home
Affairs. It is a matter of grave
security concern and it needs to be
seen who are behind it," senior
CPI(M)leader Sujan Chakraborty
had said in a rally in West Bengal.
BJP's West Bengal president
Rahul Sinha had also requested
Union Home Minister Rajnath
Singh to order a probe into reports
claiming funds of Saradha ponzi
scheme scam has been used to
fund terror in Bangladesh against
India.
CBI has registered four FIRs
against Saradha Group in the chit
fund scam. The Supreme Court
had handed over the Saradha chit
fund scam probe to CBI.
The agency has formed a
Special Investigating Team (SIT)
headed by Joint Director Rajiv
Singh also probe the role of some
officials of Securities Exchange
Board of India (SEBI) and RBI.
