To Vanessa and the Hiring Committee,

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to interview me for the
Communications Coordinator position at the University of Houston. I
appreciated learning more about the opportunity and I am excited about
possibly joining your team.
It was mentioned that the right candidate for this position must have
excellent verbal and written communication in addition to being a selfstarter, which are attributes that I know I possess. During my time at the
university, I learned not only to be a leader in the classroom but also outside
the classroom. Without the endless resources that the university offered from
financial aid to career services, my transition from student to alumnae may
have been hindered. One of the main reasons why I wanted to work for U of
H was because of the exceptional time I had while I was an undergrad. I
would hope as a Communications Coordinator, I would be able to pay it
forward and help a fellow Cougar enjoy their time on (or off) campus as well.
If I were to obtain this position, I will ensure that our students have the
proper information needed to enhance their experience at the University of
Houston. Whether it be through web stories, announcements, student/staff
interviews or department spotlights, I will do my best to make sure that the
Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services is represented in the
highest regard.
Once again, thank you in advance and I look forward to taking the next steps
in this hiring process. Please let me know if anything else in regards to
documentation is needed from me.

Sincerely,

Jordan S. Hill
