2.3 The student will investigate and understand basic properties of
solids, liquids, and gases. Key concepts include
a) identification of distinguishing characteristics of solids,
liquids, and gases;
b) measurement of the mass and volume of solids and liquids;
and
c) changes in phases of matter with the addition or removal
of energy.
In this lesson the students will demonstrate their note-taking skills in
an in-class learning activity. The students will be assigned a partner;
to do this use the list of their birthdays and pair them in age order.
Provide each pair with an iPad and have them open the QR Code
Reader and Scanner Application. Exaplin to the students that the
camera lens on the iPad must focus on the QR code for them to
access the lesson. Ask each pair to have their Science Journals and a
pencil on their desks for the lesson. Finally, pass out the paper with
the QR code.
The students will use the QR Code Reader and Scanner
application on iPads.
