My semester long project is based on the Immigration Policy, which has a wide area of
ideas and information. This makes room for great changes and different ideas that I can
implement into my project. My partner and I had originally chosen to describe the dramatic
change within the Immigration Policy. However, our ideas drifted a little bit and we ended up
researching information on the U.S. civilization process. More specifically we drifted upon the
idea of the civilization test. We found that the civilization test is tougher than anyone would
expect it to be. Many of us take our civilization for granted because many of us were born with
the right to be U.S. citizen. My partner and I decided that we wanted to implicate the harshness
of the civilization test into our semester long project. We will demonstrate this by displaying a
set of questions that are used in the actual civilization test. These series of questions will show
the audience if they could pass as a citizen or not. We have U.S. citizens should already have the
knowledge to pass the test, but some of us do not. This is a great way for us to illustrate the
process in which the immigrants must go through to become a citizen. The way I incorporate
new ideas from a broad subject shows me how much I had grown in my writing skills. The ideas
that we came up with for the project will make our presentation far more interesting than it
would have been.
