1. Stator electromagnets: Part of the electromagnetic induction motor; external to

glass housing, consists of multiple, paired electromagnets.
2. Bearing: Supports the anode
3. Tungsten anode: Has electrical conductor that receives electrons from cathode,
conducts them through to connecting cables and back to high voltage generator,
provides mechanical support for target, efficiently remove heat. Primarily
tungsten.
4. Envelope: encloses the x-ray tube, prolong tube life because they eliminate
tungsten vaporization
5. Filament circuit: Before it gets to filaments, voltage from autotransformer is
stepped down, this steps up the current
6. Filament: Small coil of thin thoriated tungsten wire
7. Molybdenum neck and base: between anode and rotor; reduces heat conduction
8. Rotating portion: Anode spins during exposure, which increases target area
9. Armature:
10. Focusing cup: Metal cup that the filaments are embedded into- forces
thermionically emitted electrons close together, doesnt allow them to spread
apart
