Proof of Concept: Implementation Smart Metering System by

Power Services Division

Power Service Division successfully implemented the Smart Metering system at
Seraikela Distribution as well as Jamshedpur Distribution for proof of concept.
These Smart meters are equipped with low cost communication feature, Remote
Load Control, and Remote Disconnection & Re-connection. These energy meters
are compatible for Power Line Carrier (PLC) communication there for the
communication cost is very negligible. The sustainability of these technologies as
follows
Low communication cost as most communication through Power Line
Communication(PLC)
Highly Scalable as no additional investment in communication
High Speed data communication at no data traffic at power line
Data Security as connected through privet network
