5. Three benefits to attending this university are: ECU has an excellent design program, it is a wellknown university in North Carolina which should help with networking after college and I have family
members who attend East Carolina which will help with the transition.

8. ECU is a residential campus and transfer students are allowed to live on campus.
11. Types of aid: Grants, loans, student employment and scholarships. I did not see a specific scholarship
for transfer students but I believe they are eligible for something called the Palmetto Fellowship.
Admission Requirements
1. There is a $60 non-refundable application fee for transfer students.
2. ECU has a specific application.
3. Official transcript(s) from each college, technical institute, or university previously attended.
Students who are 24 years old at the time they submit their application for transfer admission, with 30
or more transferable hours from a regionally accredited institution are not required to provide a high
school transcript or general educational development tests (GED) certificate.
4. Transfer students are not required to have references or recommendation letters.

5. There is no essay required for transfer students, only for incoming freshman.
6. Interviews are not required for transfer students but they do have to attend an orientation.
7. The application deadline is:
Fall Semester: April 15
Spring Semester: November 1
Summer 1 & 11 week Session: May 1
Summer 2 Session: June 1
8. The minimum cumulative GPA required is 2.0/ Interior Design program requires a cumulative GPA of
at least 2.5.

9. Yes, each major has different requirements in order to be admitted into their program. A
sophomore portfolio is required to be reviewed by The College of Health and Human
Performance Department of Interior Design and Merchandising.

10. SAT/ACT scores are not required for transfer students. The competitive score is 1110.
Next Steps/ Action Plan
1. The question I have about this college is how much it is actually going to cost me to attend this
university after financial aid.
2. Two steps I can take within the next three to six months would be to schedule a campus tour in
order to become familiar with the campus and speak with someone who can answer all of my
questions about admission and give me all the paperwork I will need. The other step would be
to gather all my transcripts I will need and have them ready for when I submit my application.
