How learning social and emotional skills in the early years is important for
school readiness and also the ability to form relationship over their lifetime.
What infants and toddlers need from adults who care for them
How social and emotional development is linked to social regulation.
This article discusses what infants and toddlers need from adults to develop social
skills. It also gives scenarios from real life teachers on how to develop relationships,
self-regulation, and internalizing routines.

This article can give some real life experience stories to families from teachers when it
comes to infants and toddlers. It will also show how young children start to develop
these skills and that it takes all of childrens early years to learn and continue to learn
through out life. It shows that this is the start of the foundation.
Data Collection/Analysis Methodology- The article links early years to social skills
and the importance. This will guide how we can help children as infants and toddlers
to learn these skills. I will link this research to observation and others experiences on
how infants and toddlers develop these skills.
Findings/Conclusions- the scenarios will be used in my research to show how infants
develop relationships and develop self-regulation.
