This artifact is evidence of my completion of the DASA Workshop. Professional development is an integral aspect of success in teaching. During my two years as a Teacher’s Aide and one semester as a student teacher, I have been present for monthly professional development sessions, specifically studying Dialectical Behavior Therapy. As well, the DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) workshop I attended. The workshop hopes to ensure that teachers appropriately manage behavior and support the needs of all students, especially in regards to establishing safer environments and decreasing the continuation of bullying. At Hunter College, on November 21, 2015, I attended the ATM NYC conference at Hunter College, where I attended breakout sessions related to skills in teaching Geometry Using Technology and Use of Manipulatives in Algebra. I received various textbooks and online tools for implementing the Common Core and alternative teaching methods.
