Creepy Clown sightings alarm America

A series of creepy clown sightings across the United States has caused a massive wave of
hysteria and terror spreading jitters among the netizens and even the White House to
weigh in.
The spooky sightings were first reported in August in South Carolina when police were
called in to investigate what turned out to be fake accounts of men dressed as clowns
trying to lure children into the woods.
Similar scenarios have also been reported in more than a dozen states with stories of
clowns lurking outside schools, armed clowns driving around in a van and clowns
prowling neighborhoods.
"It is troubling because it's a distraction for our clowns who just want to make people
laugh and smile," it said in a statement carried by US media.
Experts said that this could be explained by "coulrophobia", a long-documented
phenomenon which increased in the wake of the 1986 Stephen King novel "It" featuring a
malevolent clown, later turned into a hit movie.
But Stephen has just decided to laugh it off. The novelist tweeted" Hey, guys, time to cool
the clown hysteria -- most of em are good, cheer up the kiddies, make people laugh,".
