ACTIVITIES IN THE YEAR 2011

Ponggal festival, held in Blue Valley Tea Plantation.

About 300 people attended this function. Activities
included morning prayers, ponggal cooking competition
and games for the public. Malaysia Hindu Sangam, Perak

State
Councils Hon. Secretary and his family attended this
event.

13.3.2011 Annual General Meeting for the year 2011 was held at
Hotel Equatorial
and 53 members attended this AGM. Perak State
Councils Chairman,
Hon. Secretary and Hon Treasurer attend this event.

20.4.2011 Perak State Council AGM. 34 members from Cameron

Highlands Local
Council attended this AGM in
Ipoh.

23.4.2011 Naalvar vizha was held at Maha Mariamman Temple,

Sungai Palas Tea
Estate. Guest speakers were
Swamiji Saraswathy Sivananda swamigal
and
Malaysia Hindu Sangam , Deputy President Mr. Bala Tharmalingam.
About 250 people attended this function.

34 Cameron Highlands Local Council members visited the

Mariamman temple in Kantan,

Council organised a jungle walk and a get together at a
waterfall. About
22 people took part in this event.

attended a
Naduvar training in Ipoh, organised by the
Perak State Council.

28.5.2011 - A student of our thirumurai class acted in a telemovie En
Namban
Oru Anniyan (My Friend Is An Alien) which was aired on
Vannavil
channel. She was selected based on her active
participation in
thirumurai classes and
competition.

25.6.2011 Cameron Highlands district thirumurai festival was held at
Sri
Subramaniar Temple, Kuala Terla. About 300
students and parents
attended this event.

23.7.2011 Malaysia Hindu Sangam , Cameron Highlands Local
Council and Kuala
Terla Tamil School joinedly organised a Magical Maths
programme.
53 students attended this programme.

21.8.2011 Perak State level Thirumurai festival held at Maha
Mariamman Temple
Hall, Ipoh. About 40 participants
and parents from Cameron Highlands
attended this
event.

Krishnasamy gave a talk on Navarathiri
festival.

12.11.2011 Tapah prisons officer Cpl. Vijayakumar gave a talk and
slide show on
whats happening within the walls of
the prison for the students in
thirumurai class.

19.11.2011 Devara class students and teachers in Kuala Terla
organised a concert
with performances from the students. About 300 people
attended this
function.
