October 14, 2016

To Whom It May Concern:
Ms. Lindsay Paul was a student teacher in my classroom at B.F. Morey Elementary School from August of
2016 to October of 2016 on a daily basis.
Ms. Paul was always on time, responsible and professional. She even attended two teacher only days prior to
the start of the East Stroudsburg University semester. She was engaged with my students and me from the
first day of her student teaching.
Ms. Paul had a wonderful rapport with the students and me. She enthusiastically managed the morning
routine, planned and taught lessons that both met our curriculum and engaged our students. I was impressed
that she went above and beyond what was required and searched for extra activities to enhance our lessons
(from you tube, pinterest and other sources). She was firm but fair when handling discipline issues and
maintained her sense of humor, which is often a daily necessity when dealing with first grade students. Her
kindness, enthusiasm and positive attitude helped maintain a wonderful classroom climate where our students
thrived.
Throughout her time with us, I was continually impressed with Ms. Paul. She continued to excel in her
classroom management. She reflected and modified her lessons on a daily basis. She was genuinely concerned
for our students both academically and socially. She taught math lessons, Fundations (a phonemic awareness
program), writing, Making Meaning, science, social studies and guided reading.
It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Ms. Paul. She was well loved by both
the students at B. F. Morey and by me. I am confident that Ms. Paul will be a hard working, engaged and
successful teacher. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at (570) 421-6371 or

Sincerely,
Mrs. Holly Thaler
First Grade Teacher
