Dear Boeing:
Im writing to apply for internships in the engineering section of the company
which I heard about from one of your employees. My coursework at the
University of Idaho has prepared me well for this internship and includes
studies in material science. This includes experience in problem solving and
working in several different laboratories, as well as experiences in working in
teams.
As part of my course work in material science, I have worked in a few
different labs. This includes taking a chemistry, physics, and a physical
chemistry lab. The physics lab involved working with and analyzing circuit
boards. This also included building circuits with resistors, capacitors, and
several different voltage sources. I also got very familiar with using an
oscilloscope as it was used throughout the lab. In the both the chemistry and
the physical chemistry I gained skills in working with many chemicals. I
became very familiar with chemicals reactions, in both creating them and do
the calculations involved with these reactions. I also learned how to use
several different instruments including calorimeters, burets, and many more.
I learned how to properly dispose of and handle chemicals safely. From these
labs, I learned to work well and collaborate with others.
My major work experience comes from working at Regal Theatres. This job
included working in the concessions, box office, working as an usher and a
projectionist. I was also promoted to associate manager which included cash
and inventory handling and the supervision of employees. From this job I
learned how to work well in teams, keep track of inventory and I become
very skilled in working with money.
