Attorney Jessi Gottlieb Empestan plans to organize female New Jersey Citizens to join an
upcoming Womens March on Washington, in protest of Donald Trump being elected
president. Jessi Gottlieb Empestan, an attorney who lives in South Orange, has been an
active organizer for the Women's March on Washington, filling 14 buses with people
planning to attend the event on Jan. 21, the day after President-elect Donald Trump's
inauguration. Empestan is not alone in her cause. Viewing the march as a chance to
project both unity and dissatisfaction after a year of vitriol and polarization, organizers
across New Jersey and the nation are rallying women-- and in many cases men -- to
descend on the capital the day after Trump's inauguration.

In Clifton New Jersey, a twenty-year old man accused of killing a twenty-one-year-old

man outside of a liquor store, has accepted a plea deal, on Friday, that will have the man
incarcerated for 10 years in prison. The man in question, Owen Soltis, has pleaded guilty
to charges of aggravated manslaughter. This was in connection to the shooting of twentyone-year-old Leandro Mendoza on October 15th, 2015. The shooting took place outside of
Lexington Liquors on Lexington Avenue in Clifton.
Soltis had been charged, initially, with first degree murder of Mendoza, but the sentence,
which could have potentially carried a minimum of thirty years in prison under that
charge, was reduced to aggravated manslaughter after Soltis pleaded guilty to driving
three younger associates to Mendoza, knowing they would then shoot and kill him.

With the recent findings by the CIA of an attempt by Russia to sway the election in favor
of Donald Trump, the President-Elect himself has weighed in on the news recently stating
that the idea of it is ridiculous. The comments made by Trump towards the CIA were
not taken lightly by CIA officials, one such official responded by stating Trumps
comment "is contrary to all that is sacred to national security professionals who work day
and night to protect this country. He then went on to say that the president-elect has
chosen to "impugn the integrity of U.S. intelligence officials". It is clear that Trumps
comments did not go down well with intelligence officials.
