Monday thru Friday 4:00PM- Midnight, must be available to work 24/7 on call
rotation
Incumbent serves as the Night Supervisor for the Maintenance Department and is responsible for
supervising and assisting the night crew in performing custodial duties.
Duties:
Ability to supervise assigned personnel, including scheduling and assigning daily custodial duties
of night shift crew in County Annex and courthouse buildings, providing training, resolving
employee problems, and checking completed work.
Regularly buffs, sweeps, mops, and polishes floors including shampoo, sweeping and buffing
machines.
Lifts and moves office furniture as required.
Vacuums and shampoos carpeted areas using cleaning equipment as needed.
Cleans offices by dusting and washing desks, cabinets, walls and doors as needed. Cleans and
disinfects bathrooms from top to bottom.
Regularly empties trash receptacles and deposits trash in large outside contains.
Ensures building security upon completion of cleaning duties.
Checks inventory of supplies and informs appropriate personnel of deficiencies as needed.
Reports broken items and completes necessary work orders as necessary.
Occasionally strips and reseals floors as needed.
Periodically shovels snow from building entry ways, steps and sidewalk.
Substitutes for other personnel on vacation or sick days as needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of custodial equipment, tools, and supplies such as sweeper, vacuum,
cleaning chemicals, etc. Ability to physically perform activities including mopping floors,
shoveling snow and moving furniture, crouching, crawling, bending, stooping, and occasionally
lifting greater than 50 pounds. Ability to read and understand written guidelines and warnings
regarding chemicals, cleaning supplies and equipment. Ability to follow oral instructions and
directives from supervisors.
