Important events this week include the 4th grade Christmas program on Tuesday and an early release on Wednesday. Star and monthly monster students were also announced.

Math: Students are working understand the
effect of multiplying by multiples of 10. Soon we will be learning how to solve two-digit multiplication problems. Continued practice: -Simple division practice -multiplication review (all facts) Reading: We are learning about figurative language in poems and literature. Last week we learned about simile, metaphor and alliteration. This week we are learning about hyperbole and onomatopoeias. Sorry if students exaggerate more often now Questions about reading: -Can you use a hyperbole in your sentence? -Summarize what youve been reading. -What is the theme of the story? Writing: We are reviewing the poems we created. We will be learning how to create a concrete shape poem this wee. Activities at home: -Create a fictional story about Winter Break. -Create an acrostic (snowmen, snowday, presents) -Create a cinquian poem Star Student: Reece was the Star student for our last week. He will earn time extra P.E. time. Monthly Monster Student: Jordan earned the most monster points for the month of November. Along with his reward of a Monster Cookie, he received a General Beadle Mustang Student shirt.
