Content to be Taught (Scope)

Strand: Algebra and Number
General Outcome: Develop algebraic reasoning and number sense.
Overview: Students will learn about the absolute value of real numbers, work with problems involving radicals,
determine equivalent forms and perform operations of rational expressions, and solve problems that involve
rational equations.
Chapters 5,6,7

Strand: Trigonometry
General Outcome: Develop trigonometric reasoning
Overview: Students will learn: angles in standard position, the three primary trigonometic ratios
for angles from 0 to 360 in standard position, cosine law and sine law.
Chapter 2

Strand: Relations and Functions

General Outcome: Develop algebraic and graphical resoning through the study of relations.
Overview: Students will be learn to: factor various polynomial expressions, graph and analyze
absolute value functions, analyze quadratic functions in both vertex and standard form, solve
problems that deal with quadratic equations, solve linear and quadratic inequalities, analyze
arithmetic and geometic sequences and series to solve problems, graph and analyze reciprocal
functions.
