Journals published in each field can provide relatively scientific knowledge for peers
interested in the similar academic area. During my research on nutrition, a journal named
International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition (Int. J. Food Sci. Nutr.) caught my eyes,
since it was showed on an influential website named Taylor & Francis Online (Informa Group,
2016). This journal has a long history with over 69 years since the year of 1947 (Informa Group,
2016). For me, it is a powerful journal in the field which I am studying in and it is a journal in
which I pursue to publish my articles in the future. It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal which
publishes 8 issues per year with 14 articles in each issue (International Journal of Food Sciences
and Nutrition, 2014). The essential aim of Int. J. Food Sci. Nutr. is to integrate food science with
nutrition. Furthermore, the final goal is to improve the knowledge in human nutrition (Informa
Group, 2016). If I devote to publish articles in this journal, I need to read tremendous research

showed in the journal as an audience firstly. Additionally, I need more effort on my research,
authentic data with experiments, progressive findings in results. Finally, I must meet the
requirements of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors before I can submit my
articles to the editor of this journal (Informa Group, 2016).
Considering every article in each issue, I find dominant topic lately is about some what
specific nutrient affecting on human beings in several foods (Informa Group, 2016). What is
more, I notice that more and more investigators keep their eyes on the health of children
(Informa Group, 2016). For instances, the latest article was published on November 2nd, 2016
studying on whether the consumption of Serum salicylic acid (SA) in fruit and vegetable (FV)
has any association with obese or normal-weight children (Lassandro, et al., 2016). Cosmi et al.
(2016) suggested that the individual of children needed a specific approach to nutrition although
they were in the similar metabolic state. These researchers worked on the relationship with
nutritional status, metabolic state and nutrient intake in the bronchiolitis of children, since
nutrition influences the management of children with acute diseases (Cosmi, et al., 2016). In the
Lassandros et al. (2016) article, declaring that they started with a new point in this field
concerning serum SA and consumption of FV in obese and normal-weight children.
Consequently, I not only learn that investigators gave more focus on the health of children, but
also achieve more information about what I am going to research in my academic atmosphere.
In fact, I am a novice studying in the nutrition, so I know little about this subject, little
information, few research. However, Int. J. Food Sci. Nutr. could help me get more information,
such as the latest studies. Therefore, I gain numerous knowledge to follow the latest orientation
of the nutrition. Additionally, I also could read articles published in the past to collect the
information I need or interest. What is more, the structure of each article is likely to cover title,

keywords, abstract, main text, acknowledgments, declaration of interest statement, references,

appendices, table(s) with caption(s), figures, and figure captions (Informa Group, 2016). It tells
me that they must be professional research which can be published in this journal. Thus, I need
do as exact profession as they did. Consequently, it is an excellent template or norm for me to
follow.
Through articles published in the journal, they include many types of structure of
publications, such as research papers, brief communications, comprehensive reviews,
commentaries, gap-bridging research, letters to the editor and conference papers (Informa Group,
2016). All these academic styles of structure included in the journal means that it is a scientific
journal which has potent influence in this field. Every scholar or expertise probably has read
articles in the journal to catch the orientation in this field as well as getting more latest
information. On the other hand, researchers studying in nutrition also aspire to publish their
articles in this journal to verify their competence.
