HISTORY OF TESLA MOTORS

Tesla motors was founded in july,2003 by the engineers in
silicon valley who want to prove that electric cars are much
better than gas cars. At that time Teslas chief executive officer
was Eberhard and Tarpenning was its chief financial officer. Elon
Musk is that person who contributed more than $30 million to
the new venture and elected as chairman of the company, in
the beginning of 2004. JB Straubel and Lan wright joined the
company later. Now all five members are considered as the
founder of Tesla Motors. Tesla Roadster was launched in 2008
as first sports car by them in the market and gained popularity
all over the world with the range of 245 miles per charge and in
the same year Eberhard resigned as CEO in 2007 but he
remained a shareholder. Tarpenning, who was vice president of
electrical engineering, supervising the development of
electronic and software systems for the Roadster, also left the
company in 2008.At that time Musk took over as CEO.

DESCRIPTION OF TESLA MOTORS

The company specialised in designing, develops, manufactures
and sells electric vehicles, powertrians components and
equipment for battery charging as they want to introduce
electric cars across the world. The Company introduce the
Model S (sedan) and the Model X sport utility vehicle with lots
of new features. The Company has supplied over 107,000
Model S vehicles around the world. Its energy storage products
include the seven kilowatt-hours and 10 kilowatt-hour Power
wall for residential applications, and the 100 kilowatt-hour
Power pack for commercial and industrial applications. The
Company make energy storage products under the Tesla
Energy brand. According to annual report 2015, it manufactures
its products primarily at its convenience in Fremont, California,

Lathrop, California, Tilburg, Netherlands and at its Giga factory

near Reno, Nevada. It uses battery packs for its energy storage
products.

Moreover, this car was announced as the car of the year
and gained 5-star rating title from U.S. National Highway
Traffic Safety.

The Company have their own service centres in order to

provide services for electric vehicles through Tesla Ranger
mobile technicians. The Company owns and operates
approximately 120 service locations

According to Tesla motors annual report December 31, 2014
there are many competitors of the company in the market that
are trying to compete with it by introducing similar kinds of
transit are as following:

Tesla motors is the only manufacturing company that

manufactures the zero-emission sports car and still
concentrating on producing all vehicles featured with zeroemission in order to save the environment from immense
pollution. Todays electric vehicles promise several advantages
over gas cars as they are trying to make the environment ecofriendly.
They are focusing on the following things...
Use of resources efficiently and effectively
Eco-friendly production of cars makes the firm more
competitive
They are trying to save Non-renewable resources
The parent company will include its HR policy with its firm
in a host country and make some necessary changes in
order to adapt with the environment
As they are more concerned with their target so they are
continually working for more innovations owing to reduce the
dependence of consumers on gasoline. This concept of
manufacturing also somewhere contributing alot towards the
economy of the country.

Why these occurrences fit with the

definition of innovation. Why these
innovations are successful or not?
Innovation can be described as development or breakthrough
any field which will serve the humanity and ease the work of
people. There are many innovations that took place in the world
which changes the course of people lives. Among different
innovation invention of vehicle to travel from one place to

another place is very important event which help people to cut

long distance short. Transport system mainly depend on natural
gas, diesel and petrol which cause a lots of air pollution. There
was requirement to shift from this system so many efforts are
made by top ranked companies to develop new technology to
revolutionized transport system of world. Electric cars are
leading alternative to replace these system and so many
company investing in this project. There is a company named
tesla motors basically American company which are working in
different type of innovation in electric cars. This company
gained wide popularity when tesla roadster which is purely
electric car launched. This car did not depend on petrol or
diesel and is 100 percent ecofriendly car. This car work on
charging there is no need to go to gas station to fill gas in the
car this thing work only like our charging device.
According to current trends of market as natural resources
starts draining and there is increase of fuel price day by day
this kind of innovation in transport industry attracted a lots of
customers because simplicity of this car ease the work of
people and save the environment. But as market of such kind of
vehicle still developing so there is need of more effort and
research to implement this concept to larger extent.

NEW INNOVATION
As we discussed there are lot of new innovation and efforts are
required from tesla motors to create history in this field as
there are different difficulties related with driving range of car
as driver can cover 235 miles but if person want to cover long
distance then it will poses problem for that person so driving
range needed to be increased.
Secondly, there is planning to install charging point on gas
station which will charge the car quickly so that there is no
problem related to charging.
