Excellence in social security administration in the Americas

Social security systems in the Americas have made remarkable progress in extending coverage to populations, securing
sustainability and reducing poverty in a dynamic economic context. Bolstered by a recognition of the positive role of social
security for social and economic development, as well as strengthened political commitment, this progress has largely been
based on the efforts of social security administrations to improve governance, performance and service quality.
What?
The Regional Social Security Forum for the Americas,
organized by the International Social Security Association
(ISSA), will provide a key platform for the sharing of
information and discussion of the most important regional
social security trends and priority issues in the Americas.
Where?
The Regional Social Security Forum for the Americas will
take place in Mexico City, at the invitation of the Mexican
Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the State Employees
Social Security and Social Services Institute (ISSSTE) of
Mexico.
When?
From 2 to 4 December 2015.
Who?
The Forum will involve around 200 participants, primarily
CEOs and senior managers of ISSA social security member
organizations in the Americas, as well as policy-makers,
experts and representatives of international organizations.

Languages
The working languages of the Forum will be English and
Spanish. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
Programme
Focusing on excellence in social security administration
as a key condition for extending and sustaining social
security coverage, the Forum programme will cover the
following areas:
Day 1: Developments and trends in social security
Day 2: Excellence in social security administration
Day 3: Extension of coverage/Regional Social Security Summit
The ISSA Good Practice Award for the Americas
The ISSA Good Practice Award recognizes good practices in
the administration of social security and will be presented
at the Forum. The Award and certificates of merit, as
decided by an international Jury, will frame the content of
