Passage about Volcanos Erupts!
Volcano images
Anticipatory Set (Hook)
Showing them about a video of a volcano erupting and asking them questions
Objective:
A- Students
B- will be able to understand the concept and the definition of main idea
C- after watching a volcano video they will be doing a volcano activity
D- correctly 1 main idea and 5 details
Relevancy:
How is the main idea connect to their favorite movie, or tv show
Instructional Input:
Discuss the concept of the main idea and what's it based on
Modeling: show them them a video about the volcano erupting
Guided practice: While the video is playing i would pause the video and trying to explain the
concept, so that it can connect with the activity that their doing.
Independent Practice: fill in the volcano activity
--- one student can give me what the main idea is
--- 5 different students can give me 5 details they found that connects with the main idea
Assessment:
Will watch a volcano erupting video and once finished with the concept of the video the students
will be given a volcano activity worksheet and theyll be given 15 minutes to fill it in by
themselves.
Closure: ( 2-3 min.) two or three students will be able to go up to the document camera and
show the class what they did.
Sponge: talk about the Video and what they found interesting about it.
