Project Description
A propeller is the most common propulsion on ships, imparting momentum to a fluid which causes
a force to act on the ship. A propeller can adjust incidence of incoming flow and can offer control
over the thrust generated by it. When blades spin, a pressure difference between the forward and
rear surfaces is produced, accelerated the water behind the blade to create force. In designing
propeller blade, pressure, drag and force value of fluid flow is very important. A propeller of a
ship uses these effects to control the ship's speed. We will model the propellers, compare blade
efficiency and study the flow on the high and low pitch propellers.
