RECOMMENDATIONS
The GSIS food establishments have received satisfactory ratings since 2007 until 2012.
However, sanitary conditions need improvements at some aspects. We recommend the
following to be strictly observed by the food establishments:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.

Consistent maintenance of cleanliness in the food establishments areas

Acquiring cleaning materials like soaps and sterilizers
Wearing gloves and other appropriate gear
Observing proper hygiene in food preparation, storing and handling
Provision of protective covering for food
Following guidelines for cleaning utensils, equipment and appliances
Practicing proper waste segregation and disposal

We also recommend the renovation of the establishments areas to improve drainage. The
food establishments consistently have wet and oily floors due to poor drainage. If this is
corrected, the areas will be cleaner and accidents due to slippery floors will be prevented.
