Guide for the design and construction of externally bonded FRP systems for strengthening
concrete structures
Scopes: FRP strengthening systems should be designed to resist tensile forces while maintaining
strain compatibility between the FRP and concrete substrate. FRP reinforcement should not be
relied upon to resist compressive forces.
Minimum requirements:
Minimum concrete compressive strength, fc = 2500 psi
Minimum concrete tensile strength 200 psi.

Present Condition of the Subject Structure (Stitching building-01_Z&Z)

Concrete Compressive strength,
1. Columns, fc = 1487 psi
2. Beams and slabs, fc = 2350 psi
The structure does not meet the primary criterion (concrete compressive strength), therefore others
required parameters are not required to verify.
Note: If the structure meet the minimum requirement of concrete compressive strength, then
additionally tensile strength of concrete needs to confirm. Also failure type needs to be accounted.
