Dear Mr. Kahu,
Im writing to apply for an entry at sixth form level. I learned about this school through my teacher at Canadian International School of Hong Kong, who recommended it as it offers an innovative approach to education and is one of the most successful schools globally. I feel as though this school will allow me to develop as a student through academics as well as the co-curricular activities provided. Canadian International School of Hong Kong has allowed me to develop myself as a student, the IB diploma program in both lower and upper school has provided me with the opportunity to practice skills such as public speaking, showing initiative and being an active learner within and outside the classroom. My experience with the IB makes me an eligible candidate for your school as I understand the skills and the mindset required to be a student in this challenging program. Furthermore, by participating in a number of activities shows that I am an appropriate applicant that can take advantage of your co-curricular program. My participation in Yearbook Club for four years shows my dedication towards the club, not only have I been an active participant, I have also taken on leadership roles and have become fully committed as assistant editor. I also participate in the schools Symphonic Winds Band which is an advanced band that plays high level music, this equips me with the experience to be a participant in the Sevenoaks wide ranged music program. Finally my participation in the Duke of Edinburgh program shows my willingness to step out of my comfort zone in challenging expeditions and experimenting with skills Im not familiar with such as navigating maps. My capability in reaching academic success can be seen from my achievement in the Principals Award throughout two years in CDNIS, this is an esteemed award that is only received by students who have shown excellent progress throughout all subjects during the school year. This shows that I have a strong academic background that can be further improved in the Sevenoaks program. In 2013, I also received an arts and clubs award for the my contributions as president in the Junior Student Ambassadors club, while it was a few years ago it shows that even at a younger age, I placed myself in leadership roles and took initiative in the clubs I participated in. Thank you for taking the time to read my resume, looking forward to getting in touch with you within the next few days, you can find me at sarah12345@gmail.com. Best Regards, Sarah Leung
