(WRITING)

Amy has been my close friend for a year. I first met her in this college,
University of Lampung. I asked her the way to the new class and we started
talking. Weve been friends ever since.
Amy is quite good-looking. She is very beautiful and smart, with white skin
and she uses a veil. Like many Indonesian people, she has a great sense of style,
so she always looks well-dressed even in casual clothes.
Amy is very outgoing. She is always friendly and loves to have fun. She has
a fantastic sense of humors and she always makes me laugh. However, he can be a
bit immature at times. For example, when she doesnt get what she wants, she acts
so childish and stamps his feet.
Amy is very diligent in her study. She likes to listen to a music and
sometimes, she spends a lot of money to do some shopping.

Tell me a littel bit about yourself
I graduated with a bachelor degree in finance from Indonesia
University. I have been working part-time as a payroll clerk for the last
two years
What are your strenght?
I am a hard-working person and a fast learner. I am very eager to
learn, and I get along fine with people
Can you handle pressure?
Yes, I can. When I was in college, I took quite a few courses each
semester while working at least twenty hours every week. And, I
handled that situation very well.

LESSON 7

Susan : Hi sister, what are you doing?


Kakak : I am making a plan for the next month holiday.
Susan : What? You make a plan for the holiday. So, you always have activities on
holiday?
Kakak : Of course. My family always makes a plan for our holidays.
Susan : Really? That is very enjoyable. By the way, what did you do on the last
holiday?
Kakak : We went to a very beautiful island. Its located in the northern part of our
country. There we saw a very wonderful view. How about you? What do
you usually do on holiday?
Susan : I dont do anything. Every holiday, I usually go to my grandmother in the
village. Thats all I do because my parents are very busy.
Kakak : Why are they busy?
Susan : They never have time for me. They are always busy doing their jobs.
Kakak : How if you come with my family to spend your holiday?
Susan : I am afraid, my parents will not allow me. They must send me to my
grandmothers house.
Kakak : I think, they do that because they love you and there will be your
grandmother who will take care of you.
Susan : May be like that. Lets go to canteen. I am very starving.
Kakak : Lets go. I am also starving

LESSON 8

When I was in elementary school, I had a best friend from Malaysia. His
name was Pahabol. He was handsome, clever, and very smart. All of my friends
and my teachers very loved him. Although all of people loved him, he didnt
become arrogant. He was always kind to all of people. He also gave a help when
people had an obstacle. He was a very good boy.
Pahabol and I had a good friendship. I was really glad having friend like
him. We came from a different family background. Although he came from a rich
family. But he also still wanted me to be his friend. He always helped me when I
got an obstacle. For example when I was sad because I got a bad score of English
subject, he motivated me to survive and also teach me about the English subject
that I had not mastered. We always went out together in the weekend. We usually
went to a swimming pool and food court. He really like Indonesian tradisional
food like sate and gado-gado. He also always visited my house. Because he really
like sate and gado-gado. I asked my mother to cooked that. We ate those food
together, we had fun together with my family.
One day I was invited by Pahabols family to get a holliday. I was
surprised because his family wanted me to visit his hometown in sabah, Malaysia.
This was my first experience to go to Malaysia. After I got an permission from my
parents to go there. I and Pahabols family went to Malaysia by plane. At the
plane I and Pahabol saw the view from the plane windows. Pahabol and I was
very happy because the view was very beautiful. When Pahabol, his family and I
arrived at Malaysia we got a special response from Pahabols family in sabah. I
stayed in his uncles home. The atmosphere in sabah wasnt different from
Indonesia, but the taste of tradisional food was very different. I tasted laksa, nasi
lemak, and roti canai. Those was very delicious. The next day I was invited to go
to twin tower. Over there We toke some photos with the beautiful view of twin
tower. After that we went to I city. There were so many play lands over there. We
almost visited all of the play lands.

LESSON 9

In one week, almost every day I always get up at 5 am every morning. I


press the snooze button three times every morning before I turn off the alarm on
my hand phone and wake up. I have a cup of tea and have breakfast. I usually
watch television while I have breakfast. My children like to take a bath after they
have breakfast but I like to take a bath before I have breakfast. My wife usually
brushes her hair and wear a veil. I have short hair so I dont need to comb my hair.
After I have finished work, I go home to have dinner. In my house we
usually make dinner. The family eat dinner together at 6:30 pm. After dinner I
make sure that my children study and do their homework, and then I relax on the
sofa and watch television. On television I usually watch the funny programs. My
wife usually comes to tell me to wash the dishes or throw the rubbish. My
children feed the cat and hamster before they go to bed and I tell them to go to the
bathroom first. If we are sick we have to take our medication. Before sleeping, I
always wear my pajamas and set the alarm so I get up early in the morning. The
last things I do is locked the gate and the door, check my children and go to bed.
