Local Display

Informative Display Easy Operation

The display of the measuring result is often

required directly at the
flowmeter:
the flow measurement
is installed on a machine and the data is
maintained locally
a remote computer is
not available. The
process data will be
displayed at the point
of measurement
despite recording and
display of the measurement value in the
control room, information
is required at the point
of measurement

Local displays increase

the process safety, because they give the reading
directly at the point of
measurement. The measured values must be able
to be read without error.
In many displays, missing
units or confusing characters can cause reading
errors.

The KRAL BEM 2U offers

many mounting options
close to the Volumeter.
Sensor connection and
power supply are carried
out by max. 5 connection
terminals. Once started,
total and flowrate are
displayed continuously.

On a clear display, the

KRAL BEM 2U shows the
total and flowrate values.
Each value is displayed
with its corresponding
unit. This eliminates
errors. We also program
the BEM 2U individually
according to the customers specifications.
The password protected
settings can be changed
using only three keys.

Multiple Mounting
Options

At any location with several measuring devices,

the danger of a measured
value being incorrectly
allocated exists. If a local
display is required, it
should be close to the
point of measurement. In
many cases, there is no
convenient mounting
location and the available
space is limited.
The KRAL BEM 2U is
supplied with 2 mounting
elements. This allows for
IP65 control panel mounting or IP67 flowmeter,
wall and pipe mounting.

With the KRAL BEM 20.01,

during battery operation
you only need to connect
the sensor via the terminals (1,2,3).

With the KRAL BEM 21.01,

the sensor cable is attached to terminals (9, 10,
11), the voltage supply to
terminals ( ,1,2) and the
signal outputs to terminals
(5-8), if required.

In addition, if NAMUR or
PNP sensors are being
used, the BEM 2U is
supplied with voltage via
the terminals (4,5).

Pre-programmed - Ready
for Immediate use
The BEM 2U is delivered
pre-programmed. After
powering on, the standard
display appears. The
BEM 2U is immediately
ready for operation and
displays TOTAL and RATE.

Changing the BEM 2U Configuration Using "Unit" as an Example

Step 2 - Changing the Setting

The settings can be changed quickly. After entering the

password, you reach the setup mode. The BEM 2U
informs you by displaying SETUP.

Use the arrow keys to navigate within the menu. Use

the
key to change the main menu, use the key to
navigate within the main menu. Example: 21 means:
main menu 2 "Flowrate", sub-menu 21 "Unit". Here you
can set the unit of the flowrate.

Laboratory measuring
accuracy is possible with
KRAL Volumeters even
under rough operating
conditions. The KRAL
BEM 2U local display
adheres to this objective
and displays the measured
values of the Volumeters.
You can feel the robust
design of the display
when you hold it in your
hands. The housing is
manufactured from cast
aluminum, has a UV-resistant coating and complies
with the IP67 protection
class (IP65 for panel
mount).

Each type of burner must

fulfill different requirements depending on the
system. KRAL offers individual solutions consisting
of pumps for oil supply,
Volumeters for fuel flow
measurement and the
KRAL BEM 2U to display
the measured values.

The measuring accuracy

of the KRAL Volumeter
is highly regarded by
9 European national flow
laboratories. In a comparison of these labs, the
Volumeter reached an
accuracy of 0,015% on
test benches for fuel! The
high measuring accuracy
applies over a wide flow
and viscosity range. Processes which have very
low flows also require
high accuracy and resolution. Examples are filling
and mixing. The resolution
with KRAL Volumeters is
up to 0,1 ml per pulse.
Each pulse is detected,
evaluated and contributes
to the high accuracy of
the measurement.
