ABOUT SRMJEEE
RM University conducts SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) for

granting admissions to nearly 7,000 undergraduate engineering seats across its four
campuses- Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Ramapuram
Part Vadapalani and NCR Ghaziabad. Candidates are
given admissions to B.Tech programmes on the basis
of their performance in SRMJEEE. This national level
engineering entrance exam is held in online mode,
tentatively in the month of April every year. Around 1.80
lakh students appear every year for this undergraduate
engineering entrance exam.

SRMJEEE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria based
on Nationality
l
Aspirants should be Indian Nationals/Non-Resident

Indians(NRI)/PIO/OCI card holders (cards issued by
Government of India).
NRI/PIO/OCI card holders who do not appear in
SRMJEEE can apply under International student
category.
SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria for

B.Tech Programmes
l
Candidates must have passed class XII (or

equivalent exam) in regular stream from any State
Board/CBSE/ISCE/Matriculation/NIOS.
Those appearing in class XII or equivalent exam in
regular stream from any State Board/CBSE/ISCE/
Matriculation/NIOS are also considered eligible for
the entrance exam.
For admissions in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram
and Vadapalani campuses, the candidates must
have secured minimum 60% aggregate marks in
Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry (PCM) in the
qualifying exams.
For admissions in Delhi - NCR campus, they must
have obtained a minimum aggregate marks of 55%
in PCM.
For admissions to B.Tech programmes, the
candidates who have secured International
Baccalaurette (IB) with diploma or A-level with
major subjects as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
qualified from any International school within India
are also eligible to appear in the entrance exam.
Those who have passed the above qualifying
examination in not more than 2 attempts (including
appearance for improvement) are considered for

admissions.
SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria for

B.Tech Biomedical Engineering
and B.Tech Genetic Engineering
Programmes
l
Candidates must have passed class XII (or

equivalent exam) in regular stream from any State
Board/CBSE/ISCE/Matriculation/NIOS.
Those appearing in class XII or equivalent exam in
regular stream from any State Board/CBSE/ISCE/
Matriculation/NIOS are also considered eligible for
the entrance exam.
For admissions in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram
and Vadapalani campuses, the candidates must

have obtained minimum 60% aggregate marks in
Mathematics/Biology, Physics & Chemistry in the
qualifying exams.
For admission in Delhi - NCR campus, they must
have obtained a minimum aggregate marks of 55%
in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the
qualifying exams.
The candidates who have attained International
Baccalaurette (IB) with diploma or A-level with
major subjects as Physics, Chemistry and
either Mathematics or Biology qualified from any
International school within India are also eligible to
appear in the entrance exam.
Those who have passed the above qualifying
examination in not more than 2 attempts (including
appearance for improvement) are considered for
admissions.
(Higher Secondary School) of India or equivalent

Eligibility Criteria of SRMJEEE for

Direct Admissions
Direct Admission is offered to top rank holders of
central and state board of examinations.
l The top 1,000 IIT JEE rank holders are also eligible
to get direct admissions in SRM University for
B.Tech programmes.
l The candidates who have secured highest marks
in any of the districts of Tamil Nadu are also eligible
for direct admissions to undergraduate engineering
exams in SRM University.
Eligibility Criteria of SRMJEEE for Foreign and NRI
candidates
NRIs and Foreign Students are exempted from taking
SRMJEEE. They are offered admissions based on
the following eligibility criteria:

For B.Tech programmes

The aspirants are required to have passed in 10+2
The aspirants are required to have passed 10+2

(Higher Secondary School) of India or equivalent
examination eg. CBSE, ISCE, A Levels, IB, STPM,
HSC, WASSCE, NCEA Level 3, American High
School Diploma, etc. with minimum 50% aggregate
or equivalent grade in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics/Biology and a pass in English.
Students following the American High School
system are considered if the above courses have

Students should hold the passport issued by

foreign countries including people of Indian origin
who acquire the nationality of foreign countries.

15% of the seats at SRM University are reserved
under this category.

PIO and OCI card holders are considered equivalent
to NRI students.
Foreign nationals, PIO card holders, OCI (Dual
citizens) and NRI students get preference over NRI
sponsored students.
Non Resident Indians (NRI)

l
Non Resident Indian candidates who have studied

and passed the class X and XII from recognized
institutes in foreign countries or affiliated to the
boards of secondary education or universities
located in India.
Dependents of NRIs studying in India are not
considered as NRI students.
NRI Sponsored Students

l
Candidates must be Indian citizens, whose parents,

parents siblings or students siblings should be an
NRI.
No change in status of the candidate is made
during the study period even if the status of the
sponsor changes.

New Changes in SRMJEE
Application Form (for 2017)
l
Aspirants are given maximum 2 retakes to fill fresh

application form of SRMJEE.
They have to pay Rs.1,060 per slot as SRMJEE
application fee.
Steps to fill SRMJEEE Application

Form
Step 1 - Registration
Desirous candidates have to first register themselves
using their name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number
and captcha. Once done, click on proceed to apply.
Step 2 Log In
The applicants need to further login using the email
ID and password sent to their registered ID by SRM
University.
Step 3 Filling SRMJEEE Application Form
In this process, the candidates have to enter their personal, academic, family and communication details,
which include name, details of 10th and 12th standards, particulars of parents, communication address for
future reference and communication, opting for exam
city preference, etc.
Code. They must preserve a printout of the filled in

application form.
SRMJEEE Application Fee: Rs. 1,060
Mode of Payment : e-Payment/Unique Voucher Code
Note: Candidates must retain a photocopy of the filledin SRMJEEE application form for future references.
Step 4 Upload Scanned Images

The fourth step of SRMJEEE application form filling is
uploading scanned images of his/her photograph and
signature by clicking on upload button. After uploading,
they need to proceed to click on save and continue.

Step 5 Application fee payment

During this step, SRMJEEE applicants need to pay the
application fee through e-payment/Unique Voucher
Read all the instructions carefully. No chance for application correction is given.
All details like the candidates name, parents/
guardians name, date of birth should be as per their
High School/Higher Secondary School examination
certificate.
As incomplete application forms are not entertained,
applicants must ensure that their SRMJEEE
application form is complete in all respects. The
application form needs to be filled in English
language only.
They must retain a photocopy of the filled-in
SRMJEEE application form for future reference and
quote the application number in all correspondence.
Steps to apply for SRMJEE

Application Form for International
and NRI applicants
Step 1 Submission of Application
l Applicants of Foreign students/NRI origin/NRI
Sponsored students have to fill in details name,
email, date of birth, country, mobile number,
programme and branch preferred on SRMJEEE
application form for International and NRI applicants.
l They
have to submit the below mentioned
documents at the time of admissions to
undergraduate engineering programmes in SRM
University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.
1. Mark-sheet of Class XII or equivalent examination.
If the content in the marks sheet is not in English,
then the certified English translated version must
also be submitted in addition to the native language
certificate.
2. Copy of Passport of Parents /Sponsor
3. Proof of NRI status of the Student/Parent/Sponsor
Step 2 Provisional Admission Letter (PAL)
After complete filling SRMJEEE application form for
International and NRI applicants, an email of provisional
letter with details of tuition fees and other fees is sent by
the officials. It is not considered valid for visa purpose.
Step 3 Payment of Fees

Once the candidate receives PAL, they have to
pay fee relating to tuition, registration, hostel,
examination and other fee (excluding the bank
charges) in US Dollars. All the payment has to be
done by electronic transfer within 10 days from filling
the SRMJEEE application form for International and
NRI applicants.
l In case of non-delivery of the e-mail, the university
does not take any responsibility of failure.
l The bank details for electronic transfer are provided
in the PAL.
l Applicants have to fill up the details in the Details of
the Electronic Fund Transfer form.
l Later, they have to scan and send it to ir.accounts@
srmuniv.ac.in by email.
l
Note: Sending e-mail is mandatory to affect proper

and timely credit.
Step 4 Confirmed Admission Letter (CAL)
l Once the confirmation of annual tuition fees,
registration fees and examination fees for the
first year followed by verification of documents of
undergraduate engineering programmes is done
by the officials of the university, then the Confirmed
Admission Letter (CAL) is sent on registered e-mail
of the applicant.
l Admission is done on Merit-cum-First Come First
Serve basis.
l Those who fail to pay the application fees are
deprived to participate in the admission process.
l Once the applicant receives CAL, they can use it
as a reference document to apply for student visa,
ticketing, insurance and other purposes.

SRMJEEE question paper is of 315 marks.

Candidates opting for PCM have 35 questions
each from all three subjects - Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics, making the question paper of
total 315 marks.
Candidates opting for PCB have 35 questions each
from Physics and Chemistry, while Biology section
carries a weightage of 50 questions. The question
paper in PCB group is also of 315 marks.
Zero Mark (No negative mark) is deducted for
incorrect response.
INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING
SRMJEEE
l
All candidates are advised not to carry any

belongings inside the examination hall like electronic
items laptop, cellphone, paper, sheets, etc.
Candidates can only take pen/pencil inside the
exam centre.
The entrance exam is online and each candidate is
given a computer system to attempt the test.
All candidates are provided with a sheet for rough
work.
Candidates must carry SRMJEEE admit card and
an identity proof, which bears the photograph and
date of birth, which is verified at the exam centre.

SRMJEEE ADMIT CARD
dmit Card of SRMJEEE is made available by

SRM University in the month of March. Candidates are required to download and print
their Admit Card of SRMJEEE for appearing
in the entrance exam. They should necessarily bring
their Hall Ticket with them to exam centre. During the
examination time, invigilators check the Admit Card for
verifying identity of the candidate. SRMJEEE Admission Ticket is an important document. It should be
preserved and produced at the time of counseling and
admission also. The admit card is not transferable to
any other person.
Details about SRMJEEE Admit

Card:
l
Admit Card of SRMJEEE is issued only to those

eligible candidates, who have submitted their
application forms complete in all respects, on or
before the last date.
It contains name, photograph and address of the
candidate, address of SRMJEEE Exam Centre
allotted and test schedule.
Applicants need to download the hall ticket and
take its printout.
Hall Ticket of SRMJEEE, once received, should
be carefully examined by the candidate. If any
discrepancy is noticed, it should immediately be
brought to the notice of the Director, Admissions.
No candidate is permitted to write the test without
a valid hall ticket. The admit card should be
presented to the invigilators for verification.
Candidate must not tamper with SRMJEEE Admit
Card or alter any entry made therein after it has
been authenticated.

SRMJEEE COUNSELLING
RMJEEE Counselling for admission to B.Tech

programmes of SRM University for all four
campuses - Kattankulathur, Ramapuram,
Vadapalani and NCR, as well as SRM University Haryana is held in May.
A total of nearly 1.75 lakh candidates register for SRMJEEE, who compete for around 7,000 seats across its
campuses.
