Dr. Alan Chartock
President and CEO
WAMC Northeast Public Radio
P.O. Box 66600
Albany, NY 12206
Dear Dr. Chartock:
On behalf of the Albany Roundtable, I am delighted to inform you that
WAMC Northeast Public Radio has been selected to receive our Good
Patroon award for the stations unwavering commitment to news,
information and cultural programming since 1981.
The Good Patroon Award was established by the Albany Roundtable in
1988 to recognize outstanding contributions to the community by
institutions and individuals. As an NPR affiliate, WAMC delivers topnotch syndicated programming but it is through its original
programming that WAMC truly shines. From The Best of Our Knowledge
to The Capitol Connection, from 51% to The Media Project, and from The
Hudson River Sampler to Live at the Linda, WAMC keeps the citizens in
its vast listening area informed, inspired and entertained. With thoughtprovoking and civic-minded programming, WAMC delivers an enduring
public service that is richly deserving of the Good Patroon award.
Congratulations!
The award will be presented at the Albany Roundtables Annual Meeting
on Wednesday, May 18 at a cocktail reception at the University Club of
Albany. I hope you will be able to attend the reception as our guest.
The reception begins at 6:00 p.m. with hors doeuvres and cocktails, with
the program starting at 7:00 p.m. After the call to order, well introduce
you and say a few words about WAMCs accomplishments. At that point,
we will call you forward to receive your award, and invite you to make
brief remarks.

The Visiting Speaker for our Annual Meeting is Matt Tomasulo, founder of Walk [Your City], an
emerging civic platform that helps cities put people first and embrace walkability through online
tools. In October, 2015, Albany deployed 100 Walk [Your City] signs at 16 intersections to
promote the citys heritage and walkability.
The event is open to the public, and will be held at the National Register-listed University Club
of Albany, 141 Washington Avenue at Dove Street. The meeting will take place from 6:00 8:00
p.m., and will feature a social hour with cocktails and hors doeuvres, a short update on the
Albany Roundtable Civic Luncheon Series, the presentation of the Good Patroon Award, the
presentation of the Albany Roundtable Scholarship for Civic Leadership, and a talk by the
Visiting Speaker. Tickets are $40 and include light fare and open bar.
Next week, Ill draft a news release for local media announcing the Good Patroon Award and
providing a description of your award-winning efforts. If you would be kind enough to review
and approve, Ill send it out to the press and the Roundtables email list.
The Good Patroon Award is also featured in the event invitation. I can send a bundle of
invitations to your office should you wish to invite any of your board members, supporters or
friends to attend please let me know how many you would like me to send. Reservations are
due by Friday, May 13 and may be made online at albanyroundtable.blogspot.com starting April
18 or by calling the University Club Foundation at 518-414-3555.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss the Good Patroon award further, please call me on
my mobile phone at 518-428-9348.
Ill look forward to seeing you on May 18 if not before, and again, congratulations!
Sincerely,
/signed/
