Short Term

Look with my team for action in the POI (in the Lines of Inquiry)
Use the Developing a Transdisciplinary Programme of Inquiry rubric to review the POI
Review Action Standards / Service Learning Standards
Read with grade level team - article from Moving the PYP Forward about action
Consider the actions of our school using the Ladder of Participation to review actions
Work to communicate with my colleagues and coordinator about learnings:
Culture of Action in the Classroom
Teaching Action begins in Kindergarten
Model action and dont forget the why
Attitudes and Learner Profiles focus students toward action
Look for partnerships for action
Action starts with appreciation and knowledge
Whole school actions
Keep it local that has a global connection
The actions students choose to take as a result of learning may be considered
the most significant summative assessment of the efficacy of the programme.
Teachers have the responsibility to enable students to choose their action - to
facilitate.
Everyday actions in the classroom. Work to build a community culture of action!
Create a list of resources to share with staff.
Share Next Generation Science Standards with our science teacher

Long Term

Look for Conceptual Learning in the POI (no tasks / no topics)


Work to create an action committee at our school
Build resources for local action connections, school partnerships.
Consider Teaching Tolerance Standards as an addition to our units
Consider Social Studies C3 Standards to align with the French Curriculum
