Abstract
This research aimed to study the psychometric properties of
Standard Progressive Matrices test (Parallel Version), an IQ test
non-verbal measure of intelligence is influenced by culture, this
test was been made in England by John Raven to measure
general intelligence concept Spearman factor, and this is the test
into Englishmen psychologists of the best tools available so far to
measure public factor of intelligence.
To achieve the purpose of the research it was pulled a
random sample of (365) students of undergraduate students in the
University of Damascus, and it has been studied psychometric
properties of the test (validity and reliability) of a number of ways,
the results of the field study indicated that John Raven test of
standards progressive matrices, parallel version can be trusted ,
because the results of validity and reliability studies were good
and mostly function and convergent with the results of the basic
study, which gives us confidence in the validity of the test in the
Syrian environment.
