THE ANALYSIS OF VASECTOMY IMPLEMENTATION AT GEDONG
TATAAN SUB-DISTRICT OF PESAWARAN REGENCY

ABSTRACT
Vasectomy refers to surgical cutting and sealing of part of each vas deferens, the
duct which conveys sperm from testicles to urethra. Data from Family Planning
Agent (Badan PPemberdayaan Perempuan dan Keluarga Berencana/ BPPKB) of
Pesawaran showed that there were some problems for family planning program
including few acceptor, only 49 people. The study is to identify the analysis of
vasectomy implementation at Gedong Tataan Sub-District of Pesawaran Regency.
This was a retrospective descriptive study with qualitative approach. The data
collection was structured interview. The data analysis was by using triangulation
with Family Planning authority at the public health, Health Agency, BPPKB,
acceptor of surgigal contraception and acceptors.
It was found that the implementation system, socialization and equipment
availability of surgical contraception at Gedong Tataan Sub-District were in good
condition. However, well trained practitioner numbers were limited and social
perception among the residents stating that Family Planning is a wife matter.
