Getting to Know Etiqa


Welcome to the world of Etiqa!
We are a young team of energetic individuals who come together as one under the Etiqa
brand to be of service to you.
We set out to change the insurance and takaful landscape in 2007 when the new Etiqa
brand was launched and we have done just that. You see, Etiqa is about people, not just
policies and processes. We are breaking down boundaries in insurance and takaful to
make life easier and tangibly richer for everyone.
In 2005, Maybank Ageas Holding Berhad (formerly known as Mayban Fortis) merged with
Malaysias largest national insurer known as Malaysia National Insurance Berhad (MNI) and
its subsidiary, Takaful Nasional Sdn Bhd (TN), Malaysias premier takaful provider to form
the new brand, Etiqa.
Etiqa became the single master brand for all conventional and takaful businesses under
Maybank Ageas. The operating entities are grouped under two anchor companies for
Conventional and Takaful, respectively Etiqa Insurance Berhad and Etiqa Takaful Berhad.

Today, Etiqa is a true multi-channel distributor of Insurance and Takaful products via its
15,200 agency force, 28 insurance and takaful branches, more than 400 Maybank
branches, ATMs and other third-party banks, providing full accessibility and total
convenience to customers, unmatched by any other.
Backed by Maybank, Malaysias largest bank, Etiqas rock solid financial standing puts it in
a good stead to becoming the No. 1 insurer in Malaysia. Etiqa is already in pole position for
the takaful businesses with a market share of 39.6% and is currently ranked No. 1 in
Combined Insurance and Takaful businesses for both Life/Family (new business) and
General policies.
