For single belts and double tier belts under 4 feet enclosed with dust control hoods, sprinklers should be installed along the belt line. For open sides and bottoms over 40 feet high, additional sprinklers may be needed. Totally enclosed conveyors require sprinklers within the enclosure. Noncombustible conveyor housings only require sprinklers along the belt line, while combustible ones need interior sprinklers as well.
