Conceived as a forum for cultural exchange, Sam & Till

will outline the curatorial approach that they adopted

in charting out the 2017 edition focusing on three
main components. This intensive workshop aims to
raise questions about the role of curators in an increasingly changing cultural landscape.

Curation

BACKGROUND BY MAJED ANGAWI

Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath are independent

curators and academics, and the co-founders of
Art Reoriented, a multidisciplinary curatorial
platform based in Munich and New York. Over the
past decade they have jointly curated numerous
critically acclaimed exhibitions in museums and
institutions worldwide. Their curatorial projects
have been praised for their rigorous
inter-temporal, trans-cultural, and
cross-disciplinary approach. Their work is equally
rooted in the field of modernist studies, as well as
global contemporary artistic practices.
Their current exhibition Art et Libert: Rupture,
War and Surrealism in Egypt (1938 - 1948) will be
on view at the Centre Pompidou in Paris (20
October 2016 - 16 January 2017), the Reina Sofia
in Madrid (14 February - 11 June 2017), the
Kunstsammlung K21 in Dusseldorf (15 July - 15
October 2017), and the Tate Liverpool (13
November 2017 - 4 March 2018).
