    "Thistechnologycanactuallybetransferredtobigsatellite,wheretheymayhaveaverylarge
    camera,"headded."Whenthereissomedisasterinacertainpartoftheworld,eventhoughthe
    satelliteisflyinginanotherpartoftheworld,itcantakeapictureofitandsendanimagestraight
    away.Ratherthanwaitingforthesatellitetocomeback.
    "Earthquake,landslide,thingslikethatyoucanactuallytakeapicturefromthebiggersatellite
    andyoucanmakeuseofthisintrasatellitetechnologytotransferthedatabacktothemission
    controlcentre.Youcanassessthedamageandwhatkindofresponseyouneedtoact

    Together,bothsatelliteshavespent50daysinorbitandpassedtheEarthmorethan750times.
    SUSTAININGALOCALINDUSTRY
    AssocProfLowsaidthesuccessshowsthat"Singaporehashighlycompetentmanpower"to
    sustainalocalindustry.
    Thevarsityaddeditnowhassixsatellitesoutinspace,demonstratingitsabilitytodesign,build
    andoperatesmallsatellitesystem.ThefirstXSATwaslaunchedfiveyearsagoin2011.A
    seventhsatelliteisexpectedtobelaunchedlaterthisyear.
