Tuas Power Ltd. contracted Black &


Veatch in a joint venture with
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI)
and Mitsubishi Corporation to provide
engineer, procure, construct (EPC)
services on a new 1 x 1 F Class
combined cycle facility. There are
four (4) MHI 701F combustion
turbines involved with the new Tuas
project located in Singapore. The
facility functions on natural gas with
backup oil firing capability, reaching a
nominal capacity output of 720 MW.
Included in the Tuas design is a water
treatment system. Block I went into
commercial operation in July 2001
with Block II three months later.
