Introducing the SUBWAY NOW!


Initiative
The SUBWAY Restaurant of the Future is coming in 2017 and we
think youll be excited to see some of the early work were doing for
it. Before the future arrives, we have to take action now to get
restaurants performing the basics at a high level. Thats Where
SUBWAY NOW! Comes In. Weve developed SUBWAY NOW! so that
every franchisee and their restaurant teams understand the many
benefits to performing the operational basics perfectly. The program
provides action steps to help restaurants raise the bar in each of the
following focus areas, which are represented (top-bottom) by the
icons at right:
Guest First: Recognizing the value and importance of excellent
guest service.
Perfect Sandwiches: Understanding how to improve upon the
little things that have a big impact when creating sandwiches.
Beautiful Shops: Seeing the restaurant from the guests
perspective and understanding how much first impressions matter.
Team Building: Learning the importance of teamwork and
Sandwich Artist pride.

In-Restaurant Training Begins in


September 2016.
When Field Consultants visit restaurants in August, theyll help you
prioritize your restaurants training needs for the focus areas. Together,
youll schedule which session will take place each month from
September through December.

During each of these four months, Field Consultants will conduct a


standard restaurant evaluation, then share the appropriate materials
during the scheduled SUBWAY NOW! session.
Furthermore, new courses, created to enhance the curriculum delivered
by Field Consultants in your restaurant, will be available on the University
of Subway. SUBWAY NEXT While SUBWAY NOW! is designed to build a
solid foundation for operational success in every sandwich shop,
SUBWAY NEXT is a refresh strategy that includes our Restaurant of the
Future work you will learn more about it in upcoming STS articles.
The elements of SUBWAY NEXT will not only help improve the guest
experience, they will also signify change at SUBWAY restaurants to all
guests. Each element of SUBWAY NEXT aims to meet our guests
evolving expectations and engage them in a positive way. Improving
Sandwich Artist performance will allow restaurant teams to focus even
more on fully satisfying every guest.
