In Reading...

Well recount story events, and, compare and

contrast two versions of the same story. Then
we will take the Unit 2 assessment (USA 2).

October 12th: Fall Holiday (No School)

October 13th: Early Release Day
(Students released at 11:30AM)
October 14th: Reading USA

** Important Reminders **

Have your child practice his or her

addition and subtraction basic facts for
a few minutes each night. Their goal is
to memorize and then answer the facts
quickly and correctly.

Due to Hurricane Matthew, well have

last weeks spelling quiz on Friday of
this week. So, give your child a short
practice quiz on the Long e pattern
words this coming Thursday.

Check your childs Communication folder

daily. Dont forget to initial
the Homework Log and
Behavior Calendar, too!

In Writing...
We will learn how to use facts, definitions, and
examples to develop main points. Well also
elaborate on our topics by using diagrams.

In Math... (continued from last week)

To assess what weve learned so far, we will

take a quiz (FSQ) on Unit 3: Basic Addition and
Subtraction with Strategies.

In Social Studies and Science...

(continued from last week)

Well take an assessment on Unit 2: Places

Near and Far. Then we will study how certain
actions can cause matter to change states.
