Suggestion For Improvement

Figure 1
Problem:The air hose is hanging on the floor without being rolled in a proper way. Accidents may
occur is someone's leg got pulled over by the hose and causing fall.
Solution:The hose should be rolled and stored properly after using it. There should be a protective case
added to cover the hose from hanging down.

Problem:Safety boots are not kept in proper place and order. Instead the boots are place on top of an
unused machine This looks clumsy and not appropriate method to arrange safety boot.
Solution:Safety boots should be placed in shoe rack so that it looks neat and nice. The boots can be
taken easily when necessary and does not need to search for it.

Problem:Two fire extinguishers are placed on the same place with limited place.
Solution:Fire extinguishers should be placed at different positions around the lab so that if there is a
fire occurs fire extinguisher can be taken from nearest point.

Problem:The cleaning tools are not arranged properly according to the specified area. It can be seen
that the broom and dustpan are kept without proper order which can cause accident if it falls
on the ground.
Solution:The cleaning tools should be arranged neatly and label the place where it is situated to ensure
it can be reached easily.

Problem:-

The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) placed on the machines is too simple and difficult
to understand. Student unable to carry out the machining process with lack of information on
the SOP.
Solution:-

The SOP should be constructed with picture added for each process so that student can refer
the photo although they do not understand the explanation on the SOP. This gives a clear
imagination of what should be done for the process.

Problem:The metal dust is not cleaned after completing the machining process. It is seen
that the dust is overloaded on the machine and creates hazard if it gets into
students eye.
Solution:Cleaning should be carried out after each machining process to ensure that the
machine is safe from any hazardous things and reliable for students to use it.

Problem:The rack is not been utilised fully where most of the space is empty and necessary things are
not placed on the rack.
Solution:Things can be added to the rack in a proper way so that student can easily take any things
they needed without searching for it.

Problem:Tools are seen placed on the cupboard without proper arrangement in the shelf.
Solution:Special rack have to be placed so that all the tools can be arranged neatly and avoid the case
of tools getting missing.
