Position

: Welding Inspector

Before Welding
- Familiarisation with revelant documents such as application standard /code for visual
acceptance requirement
- Make sure drawing, item details and position / tolerances etc
- Conduct quality control procedure activity such as material handling, documentation control,
storage & issue of welding, ITP, inspection and record procedure.
- Check welding Procedure base on WPS and able to perform for welder qualification test, and
make welder ID.
- Make sure all equipment already calibrated ar required before do production.

During Welding
Make decision for weather condition especially when doing field welding.
Check the WPS and all variable that state there all ready correct ( essential variabel )
Witness if there is any heat treatment such preheat already controlled as WPS
Control the heat input to reduce HAZ area, welding is balanced and over welding is avoided
to control the distortion.
After Welding
Welding indentification such as number/joint and marked the welder identity at the product.
Perform visual inspection acceptance base on code and ensure the weld is suitable for NDT.
Perform dimensional survey to ensure all dimension comply with code and drawing.
Ensure all NDT is completed & report available
