o Founder & President 4 hours per week/ 36 weeks per year
Founding of this club required extensive research, convincing
the schools Vice Principal to allow the club to be formed,
persuading a teacher to serve as club sponsor, raising
awareness of this program at my school, and convincing other
students to join in order to meet the minimum required
members to form a club. My research included attending several
UN Foundation events.
I coordinated a delegation from our club to participate in the
2016 Houston Area Model UN (HAMUN) Conference. I also
researched the conference process, position paper guidelines
and parliamentary procedures, and then guided the team
through the process so that our club could participate in its first
Model UN conference.

Food Bank Club 01/14 present


Member 4 hours per week/ 9 weeks per year
Help with schools food drives by getting donation boxes,
sorting food into groups, and loading the donations into
cars for drop-off at the Houston Food Bank.
Carpool with other club members to the Houston Food
Bank for volunteer shifts.

Plan and organize activities for the French Club, along
with other members of the leadership team.
Meet monthly with club members for exposure to French

WORK, MENTORSHIP EXPERIENCES


o NASA Johnson Space Center, Office of Equal Opportunity &
Diversity (OEOD) 08/16 - present
5 hours per week/ 18 weeks per year
Assist the Director of the Johnson Space Centers OEOD on
projects that promote awareness of diversity issues in the
workplace and in STEM career fields. Past projects included
doing research on women in STEM to support a presentation my
mentor will be giving on diversity in STEM at a conference in
Australia. Shadowed mentor in meetings, also helped review and
correct fiscal reports.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCES
o Houston Food Bank Student Hero Program 08/15 12/15

Served as a Student Hero volunteer, a program that develops
leadership skills and requires a significant commitment of
volunteer hours to the Houston Food Bank for one semester.

SIGNIFICANT SUMMER EXPERIENCES


o Student Exchange Summer 2016
168 hours per week/ 7 weeks per year
Participated in a French cultural exchange and language
immersion experience for 4 weeks. Spent 10 days with host
family in Reims, France, then traveled with my French host/friend
to Rome, Italy to sail with his grandparents on their boat for 10
days, visiting port cities in Italy, Corsica and France. This
opportunity included hands-on sailing experience and navigation
lessons.
Hosted French student/friend for 3 weeks, where we went on a
2-week road trip with my father, visiting New Orleans, Atlanta,
Washington, DC, and New York City.
