According to Wikipedia, Language acquisition is the process by which humans acquire the

capacity to understand and perform languages. There are 2 ways to acquire language which are
innate behavior and learned behaviors. To determine language acquisition as innate behavior and
learned behaviors, its necessary to look through their definition.
At first, innate behaviours is something come from natural elements. In simple words, innate
behaviour indicate a person that are born with specific ability and he/she doesnt have to learn it. It is
the same case of an animal. For example, a dog can swim, shake water from wet fur without learning
or a fawn can run immdeiately after being given birth. For a new born babies, they can drink milk
without being taught. All of these can be seen as a basic definition of innate behavior.
In contrast to learned behaviours, it requires people spend their time learning new skills and
knowledge. In other words, learned behaviours are some behaviours which have to be taught before
being used in practical context. A bird has to learn to fly or a cheetah has to be trained to hunt. In
language, a baby has to learn how to read, speak and write a single word, then come to a whole
sentences. Becoming older, learner will be taught vocabularies to fully develop communication skills.
For more example, to be good at writing, students have to spend their time reading as many books
as possible to acquire the writing styles and new words.
To sum up, innate behavior is needed for early stage and learned behaviour
In short, to acquire any language, we have to need both innate and learned behaviours.
Somebody was born as genius yet almost all of us were born as extremely normal
human. Therefore, we are always on the road of learning everything.
