Abstract
Has been done practicum about "The Atwood Machine " . Practicum was aimed to understand the
concept kinematics to show the personal Newton, and count the moment inertia tackle. In
practicum is done 2 in the measuring time is required by the object that moves from this
point C to A to count the acceleration of objects at the time move straight changed uniform and a
moment inersia tackle and measuring time is required by the object that moves from point A
to B to calculate speed things at the time move straight uniform. In which every line will be
done 7 times measurements of different altitudes 7 . For every height done measurement
repeatedly as many as 3 times. After collecting data, in 1 continued to make graphic between
against

2 x CA t 2CA . Graphics acceleration Of count objects

M 2 and m1 , then calculate

the moment inersia tackle. In the activities 2 made graphs relationship between
against

t AB . From then graphics count average speed great things

that compares the average speed of the speed graphics with objects (
from similarities GLBB by using acceleration rate

x AB

M 2 from A to B after

v M 2+ m at A obtained

a , from 1. The conclusion of the activities

1 and 2 shows that the laws of the newton on experiments plane atwood.
Key words : Atwood Machine ,Newtons Law , uniform rectilinear motion , uniformly accelerated
motion ,inersia moment .

PROBLEM FORMULATION
a) What is meant by atwood machine ?
b) What is the sound of Newton's first law, Newton's second law, Newton's third
law?
c) How to calculate inersia moment ?
PURPOSE
1. To Be Able to understand the concept kinematics to show the
Personal Newton
2. To Be Able to calculate the moment inertia tackle.
METHODOLOGY EXPERIMENT
A brief theory

In this section will be learned two kinds movement that is linear motion and
movement rotation, the cause of the movement and the Newton will be examined.
In the beginning the argue that the unchanging nature things were quiet. So that
the thing that move so that it must be continually given style outside either
drawing or encouragement, but after Galileo make testing opinion is to change
and terkenallah principle Galileo or higher raw material well-known to be called
as

The Newton First. Newton's

Law

I shows

the

thing

that

is

character inersia, but not undefined in terms of quantity.

Based on an experiment and intuitive encouragement from the law Newton I,
Newton had formulated Personal II Newton, which defines the masses in
numerical terms, and demonstrate style relationship with the motion objects in
numerical terms . One of the conclusion of the law II Newton is if the force is still
so things will accelerated that is still , it can be reduced equality movement in the
form the others . Moreover, if we consider, it turns out that style is the result
interaction between the two objects as well as having the characteristics of a
while.

This

nature

first

put

forward by Newton in

the

law III

Newton as hukumaksi-reaction.
If a tackle can only be turned on its axis that dwell , then became narrower can be

Medical equipment and materials

1. Atwood aircraft that consist of:
a. The pillar on a large scale R that at the ends on it there are tackle P.
b. A rope penggantung that mass can be ignored.
c. Two burden M1 and M2 -shaped selinder with mass period each M tied to
the ends of the rope penggantung
d. Two additional burdens mass of each with m

e. Grip G with spring,detention load B, bearing A load holes.

2. Balance sheet 310 grams
3. Censorship time
4. Caliper
Work procedures
Every weight M1,M2, m,and m pulley weighed on 310 grams .Pay grip
G,detention additional burdens A,and detention load B on the large-scale .To
investigate whether the aircraft atwood working with both,do experiments as
follows:
1. Hang M1 and M2 at the ends of the ropes and then her pairing to tackle.
2. Put M1 to grasp G,by using spring, and to investigate whether the pillar on a
large scale in line with a rope. If not,so we set up in a row.
3. Add additional burdens m1 in M2.
4. Pressing G that M1 will be released from the clutches G,and move over, and
M2+m1 will move down .If aircraft working with both the burden will move
accelerated,and when M2 +m1 through A, m1 will be stuck in A,and system
would then move straight uniform. If this is not happening correct lies the
detention additional burdens A.
5. Next, set a burden M1 in hand and M2 plus one of the additional burdens.

DISCUSSION
Atwood is a tool experimental aircraft that are often used to observe the
mechanics in motion accelerated uniform or as a tool that can help in proving the
newton or other symptoms. Via airplane atwod we can determine the speed,
acceleration and it was a moment inersia an object.
In this paktikum there are 2 activities to be carried out, the measure the distance
(altitude) and journey time to track C to A and measure the distance (altitude) and
journey time to track A to B. In the mana every line will be done 7 times
measurements of different altitudes 7. For every height done measurement
repeatedly as many as 3 times. After collecting data, in 1 continued to make
graphic between
objects

M2

and

2 x CA
m1 ,

2
against t CA . Graphics acceleration Of count

then calculate the moment inersia tackle. Based on the

analysis of the count is known that acceleration of objects based on very different
from the acceleration of objects that, based on the analysis of the count. "The
2
acceleration of Where things based on graphs, a=383,2cm/ s while the

analysis of the count, total acceleration average of 7 line is

a =

2
44.725 c m/s . This shows that there is something wrong on the data obtained

at the time measurement. This might be caused by several factors, including is

high precision praktikan, especially in using sensors time. It is a result shown in
censorship time is not accurate, but because praktikan slipshod so data is also less
accurate. In addition, other factors that may cause data errors on the burden M2 +
m several times to touch sensors time, this might be berpengeruh on the accuracy
time that is shown in censorship time.. Based on the analysis of the count for each
line by the different acceleration. This was influenced by the distance traveled and
time don't beat object was to achieve the tracks. Further distance that have been
taken by by an object, but don't beat that needed to achieve the race will be more
for a long time. This is in accordance with the law II newton who said that "the
acceleration of objects with the resultan who work in objects, and is inversely
proportional to its mass.
In the activities 2 will be shown on the law I Newton about GLB means things
move straight without the acceleration or speed constant (a=0). Based on data
analyst attracting foreign direct investment in comparison with a high speed
graphics speed of the count it turns out that his speed much different in which at
high speed graphics is 112.6 cm/s and at a speed calculations in attracting foreign
direct investment 29.061 cm causes of/'s error likely as the 1.
The conclusions and Advice
A. The conclusions
1. Plane Atwood was the instrument used to explain the relationship between a
voltage, energy and kinetic energy pontensial by using 2 ballast (the mass
different) connected with the line in a tackle. Things that a more severe
elephant statue which was then placed higher than its position than a lighter.
So things that weight will fall as gravity and interesting thing is lighter
because there is a rope and pulley.
2. It was a moment inersia was reluctant to rotate around with I as his identity,
where more than I, the more difficult to turn around. While, It was a

moment inertia is reluctant to move as m his identity, where more

than m the more difficult to move .
3. Further distance that have been taken by by an object, but don't beat that
needed to achieve the race will be more for a long time. This is in accordance
with the law II newton who said that "the acceleration of objects with the
resultan who work in objects, and is inversely proportional to its mass.

B. Advice
1. A thesis advisor For learning method should need to apply the interesting thing
so that the students is not easy to feel bored and bored in learning more about
physics. In addition, it is very likely to mr lecturer who matter not be too
quickly.
2. To Dinah's assistant should be patient in the face or attitude action from the his
juniors who are still many errors or errors in their daily practicum first, and we
may be given guidance or direction that it is clear that mistakes or errors that
were carried out at the time practicum can be minimized.
3. Physical laboratory For basic to be reorganized 1 should need to Buy or be
embellished, its treasuries so that the students will be able to feel comfort
when studying and based on a practicum inside it.
